Agriculture Victoria Services (AVS) is a pioneering entity in the agricultural sector, renowned for driving innovative solutions and enhancing farming practices across Victoria. As a significant player in the industry, AVS consistently seeks to leverage cutting-edge technology to support farmers and agricultural professionals. They approached us to develop a comprehensive farm management application that could transform how farmers manage their herds and paddocks, utilizing advanced satellite imagery and model data.
The primary objective of this project was to develop a user-friendly, interactive farm management platform that integrates satellite imagery and model data to provide real-time grazing insights. The solution needed to enable farmers to visualize their properties, plan grazing schedules, and manage resources efficiently while also streamlining collaboration among farm staff. Additionally, it aimed to enhance productivity and coordination through robust scheduling tools, improve risk management with data-driven decision-making support, and ultimately provide a seamless, technology-driven experience for modern farmers.
AVS needed a robust and intuitive farm management system that could seamlessly integrate various aspects of farm operations. This includes visualizing farm layouts, planning and scheduling grazing, managing paddocks and herds, coordinating farm staff, and mitigating risks. The previously developed software solution fell short of these requirements. It was riddled with inefficiencies, lacked crucial features, and ultimately did not provide the user experience necessary for effective farm management. These shortcomings hindered AVS's ability to offer a seamless, technology-driven approach to farmers looking to optimize their grazing strategies and overall farm management practices.
We developed a state-of-the-art application that offers a visual representation of the farm, allowing farmers to see their entire property on an interactive map. This feature enables them to monitor and plan grazing patterns effectively.
Utilizing satellite imagery and model data, our application provides farmers with real-time information on the amount of feed available in each paddock. This allows for precise planning of grazing schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources and improved herd management.
Our solution goes beyond just grazing management. Farmers can now manage their paddocks, herds, staff, nodes, tasks, and risks all in one place. The application also includes features for printing out maps, scheduling grazes, and inviting farm staff to collaborate on farm administration tasks.
